As I get up early every morning, I was outside for two days before breakfast at 8.00 am. See the photographs below I took of the general area around the hotel. By 9.00 am we would all assemble in the hotel lobby to be transferred by a colour coordination group theme onto two buses which then took us to different places Istanbul to see Byzantium history and art.

Across the main road from our hotel were several other important hotels. One that was very nicely presented with very attractive landscaping was the Divan Hotel. I show a few photographs of this hotel.

….. there were really nice eye-catching garden beds …. it was coming into
summer there so flowers were out everywhere …..
….. there was big stone tower built in the front garden …. it created a real
eye-catching presence …..

…. an eye-catching garden bed of petunias …
…. nicely planted pots of shrubs ….
…. Formal trimmed hedges creates a sense of order and belonging amidst the informality of the rest of the garden … this is symbolic of life ….. how to have order amidst the unexpected dimensions of life ….
…. an enclosed garden terrace for having a group coffee together or outdoor business work on a hot summer day under turned up umbrellas ….
